by Aaron Mandel.

Hi Everyone,

As Lynda mentioned at our faculty meeting on Tuesday, I have some exam points that I would like to share with you. In no particular order of importance:

1. There are a number of students who had to rearrange some exams because they have been given permission, for one reason or another, to leave early. They are PJ Lin (math and English), Gabriella Riley (math and English), Sang Yoon Lee (math), Boom Nawbhanich (math),Pawan Maneepairoj,(math) Carlota Caicedo, Sam Davis(actually just needs to move history exam) (history), Alex Preuss (math).

I will need copies of those exams by Tuesday of next week.

2. All faculty in an exam should be actively monitoring students--walking up and down rows, checking bathrooms, yada, yada, yada.....

3. Please have students follow exam protocol in regard to only water for drinking, no cell phones, no hats, putting all materials, coats, etc under the second staircase in the fieldhouse, only one student in bathroom at time (unless chaperones by faculty--not a fun duty)

4. Be as much of a presence as possible next week in dormitories and buildings. Walkthroughs of library are welcome, as long as faculty don't engage in loud conversations with students

5. There is a QUIET room. I have attached the schedule for you. There are also group study rooms available during quiet hour times. They are on the 1st floor of Frost. They won't be available on Wednesday because English teachers may be holding review.

6. Review classes are optional for students. I do ask that teachers make themselves available for questions during the assigned time period.

7. All grades for exams need to be in Veracross by Tuesday, December 6. Exams should be reviewed with students on the 1st class meeting of that week.

Hopefully, that's all.

I hope everyone has a good exam week.

Elaine

by Aaron Mandel.

Hi Everyone,

I have attached the exam schedule for your benefit. I suggest that you print yourself a copy of the schedule. For returning students, this is a new format of 1 exam/day with an optional review time in the afternoon. As you go through this new schedule, I would love feedback about how it works for you.

Some thoughts:

1. Start prepping something now--even if you can just do 30 minutes/day this week. Get 1 or 2 subjects prepped.

2. This weekend is still busy with games and concerts, so you need to find time to study. On Sunday the history department is offering its optional review time for exams from 1:30-3:30. The candlelight service is at 4:00 and then the feast is around 5:15. You probably want to plan your return time to school accordingly.

3. Don't forget to exercise next week. Try to plan a time to work out or shoot some hoops or run a bit, skate... .It is a great way to shrug off the stress of exams.

4. New option this year as well- The TOTALLY quiet room. The AV room in Frost from 7-10 pm Sunday through Thursday will be staffed by faculty for anyone who wants to study in a totally quiet space. We will offer this MOn-Thurs from 1:30-4:00 as well.

5. Group study space- I will also get a list of rooms available on campus to study in small groups. The library is silent during exam week, and, as returning students know, at a premium for space.

Good luck!

Mrs.White
